| 43rd ASOCOPI Annual Conference "ELT Materials: Possibilities and Challenges for the Classroom" October 9 - 12, 2008 |
This year the Universidad Pedagógica and Tecnológica de
Colombia - UPTC is host to the ASOCOPI Annual Conference, the
biggest academic convention of ELT in Colombia that gathers
professionals and students with all kind of backgrounds and from
different parts of the country. The UPTC is located in the historic
city of Tunja which boasts a stunning and renowned colonial
architecture that is certainly worth a visit.
The topic of this year's Conference revolves around a critical view
of the issue of ELT materials. Effective English Language
Teaching requires, among other components, materials that give
students the possibility to get acquainted with language used in
different contexts and for different purposes. In order to achieve
this, pedagogical and research practices for designing, adapting,
and / or adopting materials should take into consideration teacher
development, educational realities and learners' possibilities for
continuous access and benefit.

Process to register
1. Deposit the corresponding amount (see below) in
DAVIVIENDA Savings Account No. 0099 0021 0858 to the name
of ASOCOPI.
2. Complete and submit the individual conference and
membership form if you are a teacher or the student registration
form if you are a student (See links on the right of this page).
Please complete one form per person.
3. Send a fax of the deposit slip to the number (+1) 2 44 41 67 or
a scan to the e-mail asocopi@yahoo.com. If you are a student,
please also send a copy of your student ID.
